Oh, this was wonderful! The style is very fresh and unusual (and, FWIW, for me the sort of random, brief, jumpy-ness of it seemed to hint at the thought processes of someone detoxing). I loved the omniscient narration, and the confiding tone. I felt affection for Mike and Dan, and a chill at the thought of John trapped in the burbs by the American Dream. I...well, I could go on all night. Let me just thank you for sharing this -- I loved it!
