This is incredible. It's a complete departure from pretty much everything I've read in this fandom so far. It's the quiet acceptance of inevitability, the startling hush of the battlefield as the dust begins to settle. This paints an amazing picture, while keeping John and Rodney's voices very much in character. I think this just got added to my list of favorite stories.
